Job Title: Data Team Lead (Telco) - Migration to AWS
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 month rolling
Location: London (3 days per week onsite)
Pay Rate: TBC Inside IR35
As the Data Team Lead (AWS), you will be responsible for managing and scaling a team of data engineers and cloud specialists to drive our migration to AWS. Your goal will be to architect and implement cloud-native solutions that enhance our data processing, analytics, and storage capabilities. Working closely with various business units, you will ensure that the migration aligns with our operational needs and delivers value across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the AWS migration: Oversee the design, architecture,
and implementation of the company's data migration from on-premises systems to AWS.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers, architects, and cloud specialists.
- Cloud Strategy: Develop and execute the AWS strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and future scalability.
- Architecture & Design: Build and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performance data infrastructure in AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, RDS, and more.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Software Development, and Product Management, to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Data Governance: Implement best practices for data governance, security, compliance, and monitoring.
- Innovation: Stay on the cutting edge of AWS advancements and ensure our cloud solutions are future-proof and innovative.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 7+ years in data engineering or cloud infrastructure, with at least 3 years of experience leading teams.
- Cloud Expertise:
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and architecture (EC2, S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, etc.).
- Telco Experience: Previous experience working in a telecommunications environment is mandatory
- Leadership: Proven experience leading and managing technical teams, including recruitment, mentorship, and performance management.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of cloud-native data processing and storage, including relational and non-relational databases, ETL pipelines, and data lakes.
- Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development processes and DevOps culture.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
