Science Teacher Sought for Outstanding Secondary School in Merton
We are pleased to collaborate with a high-achieving secondary school in Merton, recently recognized as "Outstanding" by Ofsted.
They are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their thriving Science department. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to inspire young minds and contribute to a school community committed to academic excellence and student well-being.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive and engaging Science curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on expertise.
The role entails fostering a stimulating and inquiry-based learning environment that encourages critical thinking, scientific curiosity, and a deep understanding of the scientific world.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and deliver inspiring Science lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's high expectations for achievement.
- Create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement, participation, and a love of learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth and attainment.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Science department and across the school to enrich the learning experience.
- Stay abreast of current pedagogical approaches and developments in Science education.
Qualifications and Experience :
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science subject or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
