Job Advert: HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – Secondary Schools – Rotherham – Immediate Start
Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for an exciting new challenge? We are recruiting on behalf of several secondary schools in the Rotherham area, seeking passionate and dedicated HLTAs to join their teams ASAP.
Role: As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers to support students in their learning journey. Your role will include leading classes, providing targeted support for small groups or individuals, and assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading classes in the absence of the teacher
- Providing in-class support to students with varying needs
- Assisting in lesson planning and preparation
- Managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment
- Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and those needing additional support
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson delivery
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a HLTA or relevant role in a secondary school
- A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt to different learning environments
- A passion for supporting students’ educational development
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
