We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join our experienced Medicines Management team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, reliable Pharmacy Technician to join our expanding team in London. Candidates must be flexible, hardworking, have good time management and have the ability to plan and organise their workload. This role will include working within a ward setting, as well as supporting the Medicines Management team in the community.This is a stimulating and diverse post which covers a wide portfolio of services and opportunities to develop many new skills in a patient-centred environment including service transformation and change management opportunities as well as exposure to various community healthcare settings.The working hours are 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday with NO weekend or late shift duties. This provides a fantastic work life balance whilst being a valued member of the Medicines Management team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will predominately be working within our North Central and Outer North West and Hertfordshire Bedded services carrying out Medicines Management duties at ward level. They will also have the opportunity work with and support our Community Health Services team. In this role you will be expected to travel and work across the large geographical area that CLCH covers if necessary.

Job responsibilities

Be responsible for ensuring the provision of the Medicines Management service to designated bedded areas, which involves working in clinical areas unsupervised.

Maintain the Patients Own Drug (POD) scheme according to Trust Policies. This involves checking the suitability of patients own drugs i.e., Correct instructions on label,





expiry date, re-labelling if necessary and gaining patient consent for using their own medication.

Initiate supply of non-stock items via One Stop-Dispensing appropriately.

Essential

- BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical services or equivalent
- Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Practical experience (as evidenced by CPD)
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
- Accreditation in PODs and Transcribing via HEE Medicines Optimisation Course
- Accreditation in Medicines Reconciliation via HEE Medicines Optimisation Course

Experience

Essential

- Extensive post-qualification hospital experience
- Primary and Community Health experience






- Experience of providing a ward based Clinical Pharmacy Service with good medicines management initiatives. o
- Experience of research and audit techniques
- Experience of education and training
- Experience in financial reporting
- Experience of using ePACT
- Experience in supervising a team/service.
- Experience of managing staff

Knowledge

Essential

- Understanding of the NHS and political climate
- Knowledge of all regulations and legislation and good practice in relation to medicines, Controlled Drugs and FP10 Prescriptions
