Urban/Architectural Designer

We are looking for experienced Urban Designers with a background in Architecture to join our London office where, together with 160+ other BIGsters, you will be responsible for concept generation and the delivery of projects of varying scale and typology in the UK and Middle East. You will work closely with a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of architectural, urban design and landscape professionals.
Join us on our mission if you are an Urban/Architectural Designer who has:
- Strong conceptual, design and graphic skills
- Ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team
- Ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project
- A sound understanding of urban design detailing and technical design development
- Exposure to management and coordination of project stakeholders, local authorities and approving bodies, and sub-consultants
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- The ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative in response to direction from managers
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working
- Motivation to advocate for advancing agenda on future of urban design, mobility, ecology, and infrastructure
Required skills and experience:
- Professional qualification as an Architect or an overseas equivalent
- 3-7 years post-qualification experience as an Architect/Designer, with Urban Design/Landscape qualification or experience
- Experience with masterplan projects and projects in the Middle East is advantageous
- Proficiency with Rhino (Revit, Grasshopper and/or GIS experience is a plus)
- Excellent communication skills, and fluency in English - spoken and written
- Fluency in Arabic – spoken and written – is a plus

This is a full-time position based out of BIG’s London office. Working together and collaborating in the same space is integral to our culture, so all our staff are expected to work from the office every day.
