About the role
Shape the future of brain-computer interfaces as a Research Associate at Imperial College London. Lead cutting-edge AI development for next-generation adaptive BCIs, integrating EEG foundation models and advanced technologies.
Your work will push the boundaries of neurotechnology, contributing to ground breaking advancements in human-computer interaction.
What you would be doing
As a Research Associate in Advanced AI Architectures for Adaptive Brain-Computer Interfaces, you will:
- Architect comprehensive AI systems integrating EEG foundation models and adaptive interface technologies
- Lead the design of advanced machine learning pipelines for robust cognitive state estimation
- Develop novel algorithms for continuous BCI optimization
- Spearhead research into explainable AI for BCI systems
- Design experimental protocols for real-world EEG data collection
- Manage collaborations with industry partners and supervise a research team
Your work will directly impact the field of neurotechnology, paving the way for more intuitive and powerful brain-computer interfaces.
What we are looking for
- PhD in Computer Science, Neuroinformatics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong publication record in top AI and neurotechnology conferences/journals
- Expertise in machine learning, signal processing, and brain-computer interfaces
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Experience collaborating with industry partners and diverse research teams

Candidates close to completion of their PhD will also be considered but will be initially appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range £43,003 - £46,297 per annum.
