We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Junior Robotics Engineer within our growing Engineering Team.

In a nutshell you will be responsible for:

As Junior Manufacturing Engineer for Robotics, you will support the writing, implementation, monitoring and controlling of CNC programs for state-of-the-art, technology-driven equipment used in the ceramics manufacturing process, including casting machines, kilns, automated spray, ABB robotics and electric manipulator; as well as identifying and supporting manufacturing improvements and efficiencies using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Alongside the wider team, you are responsible for maintaining and improving existing operations as well as incorporating new methods and processes by providing technical expertise,





support and development on new and existing product lines. Working with site leadership, you will be involved in the management of new product introduction and product change programs, utilizing resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

What you are already great at:

- Providing technical expertise, support and development on new and existing production lines; driving continuous improvement by supporting the introduction of new methods and processes to ensure we meet quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time requirements.
- Working collaboratively with the relevant departments, ensure on-time and effective delivery of engineering stage drawings, routing, control plans, tooling, fixtures CNC programs and testing requirements,





in line with national and international regulatory standards.
- Assisting with the programming of ABB robotics to perform tasks, ensuring precise movements and optimal efficiency.
- Supporting the design and development of robotic control systems, and implementing control algorithms to enable it to navigate, interact with the environment, and perform tasks autonomously.
- Collaborating with production teams to define robotic requirements, tailor programs accordingly, and monitor operations to ensure proper functioning, as well as addressing any errors or malfunctions.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including operating procedures, troubleshooting guides and maintenance logs; and providing system training where needed.






- Working with Process Engineering to develop PFMEA’s, control plans, process flows, routing, designs; and procuring the relevant machine tools and fixtures.
- Working with the team to drive digital transformation in manufacturing via MES systems, providing support and developing new solutions.
- Supporting error proofing through standardised work assignments, connecting equipment, measuring and improving process balance.
- Supporting the specification and project management of new equipment install and commissioning; and end to end projects, including factory design and layout.
- Introducing new CAD, CAM software, Manufacturing Intelligence, CNC / Robotic programming, error proofing and SAP / EFACs data accuracy to manufacture bespoke items, prototypes,





tooling or high and low volume products.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:

Essential

- Experience and a keen interest in designing and assembling robotic automation systems.
- Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis tools, such as Computer Aided Design software (CAD), ideally with SolidWorks
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address technical challenges.
- A passion for robotic automation.
- A self-starter, takes ownership of own job-based learning.
- A flexible attitude to work.

Desirable

- Relevant work experience
- Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, robotic automation engineering, or similar.
- Knowledge of robotics, automation technologies, control systems, and sensors.
- In-depth knowledge of drawing standards,





specifically technical product specifications such as BS8888.
- Familiar with programming languages such as C++, Python, or PLC
- Project Management experience and/or qualification
- Experience with procurement, maintenance, and relevant updated standards including Bsi, ASME.
- Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems Planning and Implementation.
- IOSH qualification
