Lecturer in Information Technology (IT)

Hourly rate within the range £27.20 to £41.14*

- Dependent on skills and experience and includes an enhancement for preparation and annual leave entitlement.

Required on a casual basis.

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Lecturer to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching on our Higher Technical Qualification offer.





The college is in the process of developing a Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Digital Technologies for England (Data Analyst pathway). This role will be teaching the content of this course to a group of adult learners.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the following programming languages and skills:

- Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, Data analytics and visualisation.

They should also demonstrate fundamental knowledge in:

- Power BI and data visualisation.
- Big Data technologies, including Hadoop and HDFS.
- Cloud computing essentials, including cloud access, identity, security, storage, networking services, and cloud databases.
- Database design principles and data modeling.
- Data analysis techniques, including regression, transformation, and predictive analytics.
- Systems testing methodologies and different testing techniques.

Additional skills include:

- Proficiency in tools such as Power BI and Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for a Level 5 Higher National Diploma Course.






- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Provide mentorship and support to students, fostering a positive and effective learning environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate relevant knowledge into teaching materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and curriculum development.

You should have a degree, and ideally a masters, in a related area (or an equivalent professional qualification), and a teaching qualification is desirable alongside a good standard of education including Maths and English to Level 2 or above.





You may also be required to undertake relevant quality assurance training and certification to meet awarding body requirements for assessment and internal verification of student work.
