jOB DESCRIPTION – Senior Front End engineer
Location: Remote, United Kingdom
Contract Terms: Permanent, 40 hours per week
THE JOB
Ticketmaster is looking for an experienced, motivated and senior front-end engineer who can contribute towards various aspects of taking the Tm1 Reports offering to the next level. This involves design, development, and production support of the systems as well as working with product teams in shaping the future of the application.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Design and develop new systems and implement enhancements to existing systems, breaking down complex problems into essential components and building efficient solutions using react and other front-end technologies.
- As a senior engineer you will guide the team in understanding technical constraints and come up with solutions to provide best business value.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement intuitive and visually appealing interfaces.
- Work with product teams to gather and understand requirements, discuss approaches, design solutions based on the requirements and create design documents for implementation keeping in mind costs, capacity, shelf-life and choosing the right tools and technologies.
- Work closely with backend engineers to integrate API’s, Grpc and Graphql endpoints to ensure seamless data flow.
- Optimize application for maximum performance and scalability along with writing clean, maintainable and well documented code.
- Participate in code reviews ensuring quality code and mentor the team on best practices standards and learning opportunities.
- Provide guidance, support and mentorship to less experienced members of the team.
- Lead effort to identify and refactor existing code that can be optimized or improved to enhance performance maintainability and scalability.
- Evaluate and improve our front-end development process, tools and workflows to increase efficiency across the organization.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies to bring new ideas and innovation to the team.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)
Need to know / be able to do
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
- Expertise in React framework building modular front end application maximizing readability and extensibility.
- Expert level knowledge in building web application using various JavaScript frameworks, HTML and CSS.
- Proven years of experience in building high-traffic web applications and deploying to production with a focus on quality and long-term maintainability.
- Experience in working with cloud-based platforms (preferably AWS).
- Experience working in Agile/Lean development framework
- Experience using code versioning tools like git.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting live applications - good debugging skills, reading logs, reading application dashboards like Grafana / AWS monitors (e.g., CloudWatch) - identifying issues and solving them efficiently.
- Strong agreement with high stability, quality, and continuous delivery.
- Strong experience working in a team and as an individual.
Nice to know / good to have
- Experience working with angular application.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Pulumi or Chef.
- Experience building real time web applications using Websockets or grpc.
- Leadership skills - running Agile sessions, estimating work, assigning tasks to team members, helping them deliver successfully, managing timely delivery of projects and sprints.
- Architecture skills - evaluating new systems, setting up demos with architecture teams, suggesting improvements for a more efficient system, cost-evaluation of solutions, etc...

- Strong verbal communication, ability to clearly communicate ideas, work status, advocate for (or against) a particular approach or design.
- Documentation skills - ability to make the path easier for new team members / new hires / interns by organizing knowledge in Confluence, wiki, or similar.
- Ability to manage self and own time, deliver work on time, evaluate and estimate work
- Ability to work with various teams, including tech and product, incorporate their inputs into the work being done, and manage expectations on issues & enhancements.
