Welfare and wellbeing Team Leader – Barnsley College
Student services
Salary: £22,165 to £24,218 per annum (£30,375 to £33,179 pro rata) Contract Type: Permanent | Part time - 27 hours per week

The opportunity
We are looking for a Welfare Team Leader who can share their experience in managing, assessing, and forecasting Learner Support Funds within the FE sector. The successful candidate will lead our sector-leading Funding and Wellbeing teams, who are always seeking to develop and improve the experience and support available to our students.
The role will involve the responsibility for management and distribution of the learner support funding to all eligible students. This role will also contribute towards bidding for external project funding, used to provide hardship support for students. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the wellbeing provision within college and continuously look to develop new practice to support the ever-changing needs of our students.

About you
We are ideally seeking someone with a strong financial background, as the role will involve project fund management.
You will be supported in driving positive change and shaping the welfare and wellbeing services within the College. This position will suit a Team Leader who is passionate about student welfare and wellbeing and can use their initiative to track trends and adapt practices to innovate our support services.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong administrative skills, particularly in Excel.
- Experience in managing staff and supporting them in achieving targets within an educational setting.
- Financial experience in managing budgets, including familiarity with auditing processes.
- The ability to form and maintain strong working partnerships with external financial and health services.
- Strong organisational skills to keep up to date with financial guidance set by the EFA, SFA, and HEFCE.
