What you’ll be doing
- Own the Software Asset Management strategy and ensure alignment with Business and IT priorities to create business opportunities.
- Ability to think and act strategically about the vendor partner relationship to deliver our Business and Group longer term strategy.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements through regular audits and proactive risk mitigation.
- Develop programmes to implement business transformational change to enable the organisation to deliver efficiency.
- Align technology with business objectives, improving service delivery, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on our IT assets and services.
- Lead the budget process for annual budget planning related to Hardware and Software.
- Develop the business case for the cost savings / avoidances initiative and ensures non-compliant software issues are addressed.
- Oversee software planning, retirement, reclaim and compliance with vendor contracts.
- Effectively communicate SAM objectives, benefits, and challenges to senior leadership, showcasing the value of effective SAM practices.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, inspiring, mentoring and coaching team members to excel and achieve their full potential and lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
- Use strong influencing skills to gain support and buy-in from other departments e.g., procurement, finance, sourcing, InfoSec etc.
- Maintain a strong industry presence through participation in conferences, events, and industry associations.
You'll have the following skills and experience
- Experience in a software asset management leadership role.
- Experience of working at Leader level in a large complex organisation leading on digital and information services.
- Significant experience in a senior strategic role in a complex and multi-faceted business, with confidence in advising on strategy at senior leadership team level.
- Proven experience of providing strategic and technical leadership to large complex organisations.
- Highly influential at MD level to drive strategic decision making and hold colleagues to account for its realisation.
- Demonstrable experience of collaborating with and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Excellent relationship building ability across internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record in negotiating complex software vendor agreements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to drive data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
