A high-achieving community high school in Hillingdon seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher with Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) to join its vibrant faculty.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to inspire the next generation of learners, shape a thriving English department, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
What You'll Do :
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of a stimulating and engaging English curriculum across all year groups, adhering to the National Curriculum.
- Design and deliver engaging and informative English lessons, fostering a love of reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Guide students in developing a strong understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.
- Prepare students for success in external examinations (GCSE, A-Level, as applicable).
- Take a leadership role within the English department, mentoring and supporting colleagues, and developing innovative teaching practices.
- Contribute to the ongoing professional development of the English department and the wider school community.
- Play a key role in promoting a love of literature and fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
The Ideal Candidate :
- Possesses a valid QTS in English or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrates a strong passion for the English language and a captivating teaching style.
- Holds a relevant TLR qualification or has demonstrable leadership experience within an educational setting.
- Excels in communication, interpersonal skills, and classroom management within a diverse learning environment.
- Fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment that challenges and motivates students.
- Holds a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
