About the role
We are looking for an experienced HR Strategy Programme Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working. The position is based at our offices near Kings Cross St Pancras in London.
The HR Strategy & Development team is a new function within HR, with responsibilities including coordinating people-related initiatives, interventions, and frameworks across the CoEs, as well as designing and developing employee experience and HR services.
The role will involve working closely with Service stream owners to understand, monitor, and improve service experience, contributing to HR program and project prioritization, and developing HR data and insight to ensure focus on delivering impact.
This role will collaborate with the Director of HR Strategy & Development to coordinate and govern strategic HR development activities, bringing together different work streams across relevant CoEs into a coherent program of change.
With a focus on employee experience, the role is responsible for directing resources to initiatives that will have the highest impact in furthering the University's strategic objectives and improving service quality and employee experience.
The post holder will be part of a small development team drawing on expertise across relevant teams and functions as necessary.
Additionally, the role will contribute to the coordination and development of the People Strategy and deputize for the Director of HR Strategy & Development as required, such as in governance meetings, taking ownership for HR oversight in key initiatives, or working with other members of the HR Leadership team on progress against strategic initiatives.
About you
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience in facilitation, workshop design and delivery and applying user research methods
- Excellent relationship management, with a proven record of making things happen through collaboration and engagement, with superb listening skill
- A clear understanding of service design with the ability to develop end to end services which improve the employee experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to assimilate, summarise and convey complex information for different audiences with an emphasis on simplicity
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop long term relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Analytical with experience of taking evidence-based best-practice approaches for clients
- Proactive, confident, and innovative
