Role Summary
- Responsible for the delivery of the Kent and Medway Primary Care strategy, the GPIT Operating model and GPIT projects.
- Managing day to day operations with the SCW CSU for all GP practices across Kent and Medway.
- Manage the SCW CSU GP IT support contract (or any successor contract or support service).
- Manage the relationship and contracts between the ICB and key primary care IT suppliers (such as EMIS Adept and others).
- Manage the relationship between the ICB and national organisations with respect to GP IT, including with the NHS Digital GP IT Futures team. Manage the corresponding projects and deliverables.
- Ensure that the ICB meets its obligations defined in the Securing Excellence in Primary Care IT policy document
- Lead the procurement and re-procurement of key GP IT contracts.
- Represent the ICB on primary care IT issues at national, regional and local forums.
- Manage the GP IT Business as Usual services and capital programmes.
- Work with ICB colleagues to ensure that primary care IT systems and services are fit for purpose and able to support the digital transformation required by ICB and national priorities
- Ensure that suppliers manage cyber security risks and incidents appropriately
- Work closely with local healthcare and non healthcare administrative bodies, including local Councils, the LMC, across the ICS to facilitate delivery of key primary care services.
Key responsibilities
- You'll lead the Department and the team to ensure that workstream and programmes are planned and carried out effectively.
- You'll lead the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well co-ordinated procurement and contract management service capable of meeting all statutory,
regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Managing the team’s business support function, including developing and managing the team’s annual business plan, progress and dashboard reporting and risk and issue management;
- Liaising with functions with the directorate and ICB;
- Managing all corporate business returns, including planning returns;
- Developing and implementing a management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider health and social care organisations;
- Taking a lead in the coordination of training and development and recruitment activity across the Department or Directorate;
- Oversight and management of all aspects of the Department or Directorate budget.
