We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Gardener to join our dedicated Gardens and Grounds team. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and enhancing the visual appeal and health of our gardens and green spaces. Your responsibilities will include planting, weeding, mulching, pruning, watering, and general garden upkeep under the guidance of our Facilities Manager (Grounds and Gardens)..
This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for horticulture, enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions, and is eager to learn and grow in the field of gardening and landscape maintenance. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of plants and garden equipment,
contributing to the creation and maintenance of vibrant and sustainable landscapes.
As an Assistant Gardener, you will also assist in the preparation and maintenance of seasonal displays, participate in planting projects, and help ensure that all garden areas are attractive and well-presented. Attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential for this role.

About you
You are a passionate individual with a keen interest in horticulture and a love for the outdoors. Ideally, you have some experience in gardening or landscape maintenance, although a strong desire to learn and a hands-on approach are just as important.
You take pride in contributing to beautiful and well-maintained gardens, and you enjoy the physical aspect of gardening work.
As an Assistant Gardener, you should be comfortable with physical tasks and able to work in various weather conditions. You are curious about plants and eager to expand your knowledge and skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. You have a good eye for detail and can follow instructions carefully to maintain high standards of garden care.
You are a team player who collaborates well with others but also has the initiative to work independently when required. You possess good communication skills and are receptive to feedback and learning opportunities.
