Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 300 employees spanning 7 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.
We are currently looking to recruit a HGV Class 2 Driver to be based at our Ambergate site. Previous HGV driving experience or experience of a similar role is preffered, however not essential. Must have strong geographical knowledge, be motivated and able to work on own initiative.

About the HGV Class 2 role:
Working hours are flexible, operating on a Monday - Friday basis.
All drivers are eligible for our driver incentive bonus. HGV Class 2 license is essential. Realistic earning potential of up to £35,000.
As a HGV Class 2 driver with the Lockwood Group you will cbe required to complete the following tasks:
- General Haulage
- Pallet Network multi-drop deliveries/collections
- Use of the latest technology i.e. electronic POD devices, electronic walk around checks (full training will be provided).
- To maintain excellent levels of customer service
- To ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team
- To deliver goods in a timely and professional manner.
Skills and experience we’re looking for in our HGV Class 2 drivers:
- Candidates will be a fully qualified HGV Class 2 driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
- You will be reliable and punctual and have a flexible approach
- Good verbal communication with excellent customer service skills and a professional approach.
