Job Introduction

Children's Services Business Support Officer

Pay NJC – Scale 4

Part Time - 25 hours (term time only plus 2 weeks)

£24,294 - £25,979 per annum - pro-rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer within Children’s Services. The post is full time, based at Darby House, Lawn Central, Telford with some home working.





If you would like to be part of a busy team helping to support the children and families of Telford and Wrekin, then this could be the position for you.

Business Support Officers play a vital role in supporting front line teams and practitioners across Children’s Safeguarding and Family Support and our Education and Skills Services. The Business Support Service provides professional administrative support across the breadth of Childrens Services, and we aim to;

- Deliver an integrated and highly effective business support service

The main role of this post will be minute taking complex child protection meetings, diary management, arranging Child Protection Conferences, Initial Child in Care meetings, sending invites for Review child protection conferences, minute taking Child Protection conferences and Position Of Trust meetings, setting up conference rooms and equipment,





meeting and greeting Service Users/Multi Agencies, typing letters/minutes -distributing within tight timescales and data entry.

Experience of client based electronic systems including Protocol is desirable

As this role is relating to Child Protection and Children in Care, accuracy is of great importance. You will need to have good organisation skills and be able to meet tight timescales ensuring confidentiality and data protection at all times.

You will have good proficiency in the use of ICT systems (Microsoft applications, databases etc) and be confident dealing with a variety of multi-disciplinary professionals whilst working to deadlines in a highly demanding environment. Working within a confidential environment you will have the ability to take a high standard of meeting minutes. You will have strong administrative and IT skills and the ability to collate and manage data. You will use your initiative to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines in a highly demanding environment. You will need to have the confidence and ability to deal with a variety of multi-disciplinary professionals on a range of matters and the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information. You should enjoy working as part of an effective team but also work independently to a high standard whilst working remotely.
