Job summary

Do you love diving into data, building pay models, and using spreadsheets to explore possibilities and provide solutions? Have you worked on pay and reward initiatives, such as modelling pay awards, costing organisational transformation projects,

or job evaluation and benchmarking activities? Are you now looking for the next step to develop your skills on a larger scale? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

We're looking for a Reward and Benefits Manager to take a key role in shaping the future of pay and benefits at the House of Lords. If you're excited about designing innovative pay solutions, getting creative with reward strategies, and using data to drive decision-making, we want to hear from you.

Why This Role is Exciting

- Build Complex Pay Models: You'll have the opportunity to develop costed pay models and design innovative pay structures that help us attract and retain the best talent.
- Play a Key Role in Pay Negotiations: Step up to the challenge of leading pay negotiations with recognised Trade Unions, ensuring our pay strategy supports both our employees and organisational goals.
- Revamp Benefits: Lead the way in reviewing and revamping our benefits offering—be at the forefront of designing new, exciting proposals that keep our employees engaged and motivated.

- Collaborate and Grow: You'll work alongside a range of internal and external stakeholders, giving you the chance to build on your experience and develop your skills in a supportive and high-profile environment.

Job description

What You'll Be Doing

- Designing and costing pay models to support key pay awards and organisational change.
- Playing a key role in pay negotiations with Trade Unions, ensuring fair and balanced outcomes.
- Benchmarking our pay and benefits against external comparators to ensure competitiveness.
- Providing expert advice on pay decisions, sector allowances, and other pay-related issues.
- Reviewing and making innovative proposals to enhance our benefits package, ensuring it aligns with business needs and engages employees.

- Preparing papers and recommendations for senior leaders, using data-driven insights to inform decisions.

Person specification

Is This You? Are you the “numbers person” in your team? When there's a spreadsheet to be built, does everyone look at you? Then you might be who we're looking for!

You might have experience working in a housing association, local authority, or small organisation where you've played a hands-on role in pay modelling and benefits. You'll love using spreadsheets and data to solve complex problems, and you are looking to take the next step in your career by moving into a larger organisation where you can grow your skills and make a real impact.

What You Bring

- Pay and Reward Experience:

Experience developing costed pay proposals and providing recommendations to senior stakeholders based on your findings.
- Data-Driven: A love for spreadsheets and data, with a proven ability to use them to create insightful, costed pay models.
- Innovative Thinking: Enthusiasm for designing creative pay and benefits solutions that align with organisational goals.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work well with colleagues across HR, finance, and senior leadership, and to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Organisational Skills: Experience managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing needs.

Qualifications

- CIPD accreditation or equivalent experience is essential.
- MCIPD or further qualifications in reward would be an advantage, but passion for data and pay modelling is key!

Benefits

Our Values We believe in creating a workplace that's built on respect, inclusivity, professionalism, and responsibility. If these values resonate with you, and you're excited about helping us attract and retain diverse talent through innovative pay and reward strategies, we want to hear from you.
