Overview:
Our client is a fast-growing, private equity-backed Charge Point Operator (CPO), focused on providing state-of-the-art EV charging solutions. As a key player in the transition to clean energy, the company is expanding rapidly to meet the surging demand for electric vehicle infrastructure across the UK. With a strong investment backing, the company is now scaling its commercial operations and requires an experienced Head of Sales to lead the charge.
Role:
As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales team that drives revenue growth across the UK market. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will manage a team of sales managers (currently 2-3 direct reports)
and be instrumental in shaping the company’s sales strategy, processes, and market positioning. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a rapidly scaling business at the forefront of the EV revolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy to meet ambitious growth targets, aligning with broader commercial objectives.
- Lead the sales function, managing a growing team of sales managers and supporting them to achieve both individual and team KPIs.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to refine market positioning, product offerings, and go-to-market strategies.
- Manage and mentor the current sales team (2-3 managers), fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, goal-setting, and regular performance reviews.
- Scale the sales team as needed, recruiting and onboarding new talent in line with business growth.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, large-scale B2B clients, and channel partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Oversee the implementation of effective sales processes, CRM systems, and performance tracking to ensure high efficiency and clear reporting.
- Work closely with marketing and product teams to ensure sales efforts are aligned with marketing campaigns and product development.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Regularly provide market feedback to senior management, influencing business direction and growth strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, ideally within the EV charging, renewable energy, or infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong understanding of the UK EV charging market, and a solid network within the industry.
- Experience working within a private equity-backed business is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in scaling sales teams and developing efficient sales processes.
