The successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
The Senior Social Work Practitioner role will uphold operational requirements and the monitoring of timely statutory responsibilities.
They will maintain up to date detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, council policies and procedures.
The role will involve line managing BIA's within the team by offering regular supervision and completing the necessary paperwork and to engage in performance management monitoring as required.
The post holder will be responsible for completing DoLS authorisations, managing the team when the team leader is off, supervising staff and working on a duty rota to deal with enquiries that come into the team.
Part of the role of Senior Social Work Practitioner in the team will be to contribute to development work within the DoLS Team and provide expertise in Mental Capacity law.
