Position Overview
The Director of People and Operations is a pivotal role within Rough Trade, responsible for leading our human resources and operational functions.
This role will ensure the alignment of our people strategy with our business goals, fostering a high-performance culture, and optimising our operations to support growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
People Strategy and Management :
Develop and implement HR strategies that support the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company.
Lead talent acquisition, retention, and development efforts to ensure we attract and retain top talent.
Oversee employee relations, performance management,
and career development programs.
Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work culture aligned with Rough Trade’s values and mission.
Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
Operations Management :
Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure smooth and efficient business processes.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and ensure operational excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
Oversee the maintenance and security of company facilities.
Leadership and Development :
Provide leadership and guidance to teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Develop and manage departmental budgets,
ensuring cost-effective management of resources.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of HR and operational initiatives.
Serve as a member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
Qualifications :
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree OR relevant experience.
Proven experience in a senior HR and operations role, preferably within the retail or music industry.
Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and operational management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
