A well-established independent school in Southwark seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Sociology teacher to join its dynamic faculty.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering the chance to ignite students' curiosity about society, culture, and the human experience within a stimulating learning environment.
What You'll Do :
- Design and deliver engaging and informative Sociology lessons across all year groups,
adhering to relevant curricula (e.g., GCSE, A-Level).
- Cultivate a thought-provoking and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical analysis, informed debate, and a deeper understanding of social structures and issues.
- Guide students in developing a comprehensive knowledge of sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social challenges.
- Prepare students for success in external examinations (as applicable).
- Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methods and real-world examples.
- Play a key role in fostering a love for learning and encouraging active participation in class discussions and projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Social Sciences department and contribute to school-wide events.
We Seek a Candidate Who :
- Possesses a valid QTS in Sociology or a relevant social science discipline.
- Demonstrates a strong passion for Sociology and a captivating teaching style that fosters critical thinking and social awareness.
- Excels in communication, interpersonal skills, and classroom management within a diverse and intellectually curious student body.
- Creates a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages respectful dialogue and diverse perspectives.
