Join Close Brothers Finance Team where you will support the Head of External Reporting and Accounting Policy on the delivery of all group financial reporting including the annual and half year reports, as well as internal reporting to the Audit Committee.
Maintain a strong working relationship with PwC, the group’s auditors, and provide appropriate support to ensure the audit process is smooth and efficient.
Manage the delivery of the group’s quarterly Finrep return. Provide technical accounting support and training to business units across the group, as well as implement accounting and disclosure changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance
- Support the Head of External Reporting on the delivery of group financial reporting including the annual and half year reports
- Support the Head of External Reporting on reporting to the Audit Committee and responding to the Committee’s requests
- Assist in the continued improvement / automation of processes including production of the group annual report and subsidiary accounts
- Assist in the continued improvement of the quality and consistency of subsidiary accounts
People
- Management of one direct report the Group Technical Accountant
- Manage inter departmental collaboration while encouraging teamwork and the development of strong working relationships
Conduct, Risk and Compliance
Ensure that all governance and compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the regulatory bodies are carried out to the standards required
Developing Our People : as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching.
You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE / ARE :
- Strong experience and knowledge of financial reporting and control, audit, and technical accounting (IFRS) within financial services
- Proven track record of delivering effective reporting under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Can demonstrate experience of working and collaborating with others,
including senior management, across functional and geographic boundaries
- Strong interest in understanding commercial operations and the key drivers of value within the businesses
- ACA or ACCA, minimum 4 years PQE
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE / ARE :
- Experience of Finrep regulatory requirements and submissions
- Degree or equivalent
