A high-achieving community high school in Hillingdon seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher with Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) to join its dynamic faculty.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering the chance to shape young minds, foster a love of literacy,
and take on a leadership role within the English department.
Key Responsibilities Teaching :
- Design and deliver engaging and informative English lessons across all year groups, adhering to the National Curriculum.
- Cultivate a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Guide students in developing a strong understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.
- Prepare students for success in external examinations (GCSE, A-Level, as applicable).
- Utilize innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Leadership :
- Take on a leadership role within the English department, supporting and mentoring colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the English curriculum, ensuring it is aligned with current educational best practices.
- Lead departmental initiatives to improve teaching and learning within the English department.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and professional development opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate :
- Possesses a valid QTS in English or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrates a fervent passion for the English language, a captivating teaching style, and a strong track record of raising student achievement.
- Possesses excellent leadership qualities, communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire teachers and students.
- Proven experience or a strong desire to contribute to curriculum development and departmental leadership.
- Fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters to diverse needs and learning styles.
- Holds a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
