The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of teaching and research at the heart of a dynamic department with a reputation in developing successful, research-led programmes.
Our varied programmes aim to nurture students’ inquisitive minds and to transform them into critical-thinking professionals.
You will plan, deliver teaching and assess a range of modules across our undergraduate programmes as well as our popular MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology, using a variety of technologies and approaches to deliver a vibrant education to your students that can be translated into real-world skills.
The ability to contribute to teaching in the area of mental health,
clinical / counselling psychology is essential.
You will be supervising student projects and undertaking your own research, as well as contributing to the research environment of the Department.
Working side by side with talented colleagues you will benefit from membership of one of our Departmental Research Groups.
The Person
You will hold or have submitted your PhD / doctorate in the field of psychology with expertise in mental health (e.g. PhD in clinical psychology, DPsych Clinical / Counselling psychology).
If you haven't already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we'll need you to do so before the end of your probation period.
On a personal level, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students will be your core motivation.
You will use your experience of working in Psychology to promote integrated professional practice across everything you do, imparting practical knowledge to students that they will take with them in their future careers.
Constantly seeking to improve, you will scrutinise your own work, build internal and external networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty’s reputation in higher education and the wider local community and beyond.
