Job description
General Clinical Duties
The appointee will be contracted for an average of 10 programmed activities per week. Job plan will be agreed on commencement of post. It will include :
- 1 in 7 hot weeks and 1 in 7 on call with weekend in General paediatrics (TBC)
- In 'non hot weeks' 2 to 3 clinics a week : General paediatrics new & follow-up and Diabetes clinics.
- Core CPD and any remaining SPA to contribute to activities of the department. You will be educational supervisor for 1 or 2 trainees, contribute to induction and post graduate education, undergraduate education, governance activities, audit and research.
A new Job planning framework has been agreed with LNC recently.
- 1 in 7 resident evenings till 8PM (Mon- Friday)
as resident consultant for POAU & admissions (TBC).
- MBChB or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification - MRCPCH or equivalent
- Completion of general professional training (paediatric medicine)
- Completion of higher specialist training in paediatric medicine. Must be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.
- Level 3 Training Special Interest Module (SPIN) in Paediatric Diabetics or equivalent

- Full registration with the GMC and Licensed to Practice
