Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons to students in accordance with the national curriculum
- Assess and monitor the progress of students, providing feedback and support to facilitate their learning and development
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and individual growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum materials and assessments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance and grades
- Communicate with parents / guardians regarding student progress, behaviour, and concerns
- Participate in professional development activities and stay up-to-date with current educational practices and research
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
- Proven experience teaching Science in a primary or secondary school setting
- Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in Science education
