We are currently looking for a Lead Engineer to join us at Doncaster . If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Engineer will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Maintenance Team, including delegation of work and monitoring individual and team performance.

The role is responsible for identifying and prioritizing proactive and reactive maintenance tasks on a daily basis and overseeing plant safety.







The successful candidate will also support the Engineering Manager in the day to day running of the department and deputise in their absence.

The role

- Communicate with the Site Leadership Team escalating any problems or issues related to Production and Engineering.
- To check and update the Agility CMMS on a daily basis, closing out completed jobs, tracking the progress of PMs, and ensuring all work is delegated or undertaken accordingly.
- Lead the Engineering Team on day-to-day maintenance activities and maintaining machine availability.
- Coordinate workplace organisation and workload across the Engineering Department, maintaining planned work, including PPM and improvement work.
- Actively and analytically fault find.
- Liase with the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Planner regarding departmental and site projects.
- Maintain maintenance monitoring.






- Provide hands-on support for Assembly Team Leaders and employees, ensuring consistency between shifts.
- Liase with Engineering and Production departments to ensure effective shift changeovers and handovers for both departments are completed.
- Supervise the team and contractors, including permit writing and inductions.
- Identify, implement and plan in PPM and AM schedules and activities, driving continuous improvement.
- Operate in line with all Wavin Health and Safety standards and procedures.
- Oversee plant safety, including site emergency evacuation procedures.
- Implement and adhere to safe working practices in accordance with legislation.
- Drive health and safety and environmental related issues through supporting safety concern and behavioral audits.
- Lead accident investigations in line with HSE policy.






- Coach and mentor the Engineering Team, including Apprentices to develop succession planning.
- Identify training requirements within the Engineering Team.

The profile

The successful candidate will possess strong, technical knowledge in injection moulding, plastics extrusion, and automated assembly systems with experience in motivating and leading a team in a demanding environment.

The postholder will have a commitment to the performance management of both a team and individuals and have a desire to contribute to their continued professional development through the application of coaching and mentoring methods.







We are keen to welcome candidates with excellent communication skillls across all mediums in addition to effective organisational skills and flexiblility to ensure operational deadlines are met.

A high degree of computer literacy is also required for the role and the postholder must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
