About the role
Housing First offers client led support, with a proactive engagement approach, and a focus on meeting the client where they are at.
Housing First recognises that every individual has a right to a home without having to prove housing readiness, therefore as a team we aim to reach people who have typically found it difficult to engage with generic services and may have had repeat experiences of homelessness.
Your role as a Specialist Housing First Worker, will require you to work alongside a wider team involving other Specialist Housing First Workers, and external partner agencies, as well as the local authority.
You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of up to 7 clients,
providing them with one to one intensive support that will be offered within the client’s home as well as within the community.
About you :
- Proactive, good at rapport building, and have a strong sense of the challenges faced by people who have been rough sleeping for long periods of time.
- Good communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the core principles of the Housing First Model and work actively to ensure that these principles are at the heart of achieving positive outcomes for our clients.
- Good working knowledge of housing and the current welfare system, you will also have a passion for supporting highly vulnerable adults.
