We have been around since 1997 when we started as a small playgroup set up by parents dismayed at the lack of provision for their autistic children. Since then, Resources for Autism (RfA) has grown into a major deliverer of services and support in London and the West Midlands with a turnover of around £2.5m per year. Our mission is to support and enable autistic people to live happy and fulfilling lives. We want to change society’s attitude to autism whilst also providing essential services and enriching opportunities to autistic people. Our Services

All of our services across children and adults and parent/carers, mirror the wider organisational mission of providing safe, fun and meaningful support that enables personal development. We provide this support by ensuring our staff are skilfully trained, meet the highest safeguarding expectations and are encouraged to develop and upskill throughout their career with Resources for Autism.

The Role

The People Services Team Manager is responsible for leading the team of people who provide all the transactional people & central services activity for our potential employee’s and current employee’s. We want to engage a high performing workforce. This is a key role in bringing together the key central services processes, that enable colleagues to engage well within the organisation. The role sits in the people and resources management team (P&RMT;)

You will have excellent HR,





Recruitment & Organisational development process skills. With good project management methodology. You will deputise in the absence of the Head of People and act as a subject matter expert for good HR processes and policies.

· Wellbeing, and more.

The role of this team led by the People Services Team Manager and with the support of others, will be to take a continuous improvement approach to our core people processes, ensure they are people centred,





and they maximise the use of the technology we have available and include process automation wherever possible.

The People Services Team Manager will bring the different elements of transactional people services together to provide a high quality, efficient and responsive service comprising of Recruitment, Learning and Development, Workforce planning and Reporting and HR System Management in the near future.

This role will suit a confident skilled People process person, who can, with confidence manage things such as performance, grievance, policy review, sickness absence meetings, and more.

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensuring that all HR operational procedures are well-documented, implemented, and carried out to deliver a first-class experience for our employees and the business.







· Learning and Development, including developing and maintaining service processes to manage the administration of training, learning and development activities.

· Responsible for all areas of people management; Motivating, managing, empowering and coaching the team ensuring effective performance manage to ensure delivery of overall Key Performance Indicators/ targets, objectives, business plans, and evaluation of training needs where appropriate.

· HR process elements of grievance, sickness absence and monitoring, disciplinary, time keeping, performance reviews, misconduct hearings.

· Ensure that work tasks are well organised, prioritised, and delegated to the people services advisors on a daily basis, ensuring work is completed within agreed SLA’s.







· Manage and oversee recruitment from end to end.

· Support the wider HR team with ad hoc requests and provide guidance to managers on process guidelines, including complex escalated issues.

· Support the development and maintenance of Standard Procedures and compliance with employment legislation.

· Any other reasonable task requested by management.

· Uphold and adhere to the values of RfA at all times.

· Ensure there is always compliance with RfA’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

· All staff are expected to promote equality in the workplace and in our services.

· Undertake any other duties asked of you that are commensurate with your grade.

Person Specification

Essential Skills

· Experience of working within People,





Inclusion or / and HR teams at an operational level for a minimum of 2 years

· Minimum 1 year experience of middle or senior level role in HR, OD, Recruitment, or L&D;

· Experience of end-to-end recruitment

· Experience of at least one HR process such as performance, grievance, disciplinary and attendance management

· Creating and developing good and sound HR processes

Desirable Skills

· Ability to do policy reviews and development

· Experience of how use of technology can be used to further enhance the charity’s impact

· Have an excellent organisational development knowledge and skill

Standard Skills Expected of All Staff

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) adaptable to different populations including: colleagues,





external professionals, service users, families, volunteers, donors

· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

· Good understanding of Safeguarding

· IT skills: proficient with Office 365

· Self-starter and able to work independently, using own initiative

· Non-judgemental, compassionate
