Overview of job
Working alongside our podcast, video and digital teams you will edit engaging social media video content for our slate of owned and operated podcasts. You will bring creative flair and ensure that Global remains at the top of the media industry.

Responsibilities of the role
- Editing video content,
create engaging video edits for podcasts across comedy and entertainment as well as news and factual.
- Vision Mixing, operate vision mixing equipment during podcast recordings in the studios (training will be given).
- Staying up to date with current social media trends, meme culture and viral content styles. You will know what’s working on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and other platforms and be able to apply these trends to Global content.
- Identify moments from podcasts that can be repurposed into viral videos or meme-worthy content.
- Craft fan-friedndly edits that capitvate audiences and encourage sharing.
- Use editing techniques, graphics and music to enhance storytelling and make podcast content stand out.
- Work closely with the Senior Video Producer and the Podcast Producer to ensure content aligns with the shows tone and audience expectations.
- Working with the engineering team to anticipate and troubleshoot issues with podcast recordings.
- Ensuring all podcast video footage is correctly ingested and creating systems to check these files each week.
- Contributing ideas to the podcast team’s social video output, bring the best out of our talent and influence how we continue to publish engaging content for our digital audience.
What you will need
- Proven editing experience with a portfolio of social video content.
- Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Social media savvy, in-depth understanding of social media platforms and the kind of content that performs best on each one.
- Strong attention to detail and a knack for finding the most compelling moments to be edited for socials.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment of social media and keep up with rapidly changing trends.
- Comfortable editing content for a range of genres including factual, comedy, news and entertainment.
- Experience of subtitling for socials.
- Basic understanding of media management and workflows.
- Nice to have but not essential, experience with After Effects or similar.
- Knowledge of SEO and video optimisation for social platforms would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
- Background in social media management or content strategy would be helpful but isn’t essential.
