Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Python Back End Developer with expertise.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial markets, strong programming skills in Python, and experience developing and maintaining back-end systems for trading applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust back-end systems for trade capture and processing.
- Design, implement, and optimise data models and database schemas related to Rates trading.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial software solutions.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Integrate third-party APIs and financial data feeds.
- Implement and enforce security best practices to protect sensitive financial information.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Write and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in back-end development using Python.
- Strong knowledge of Rates products (e.g., interest rate swaps, bonds, futures) and trade capture processes.
- Experience with financial markets and instruments.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with other programming languages such as Java or C++.
- Understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is a plus.
- Prior experience in a financial services or trading environment.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
