Job description
Financial Management department is in charge of planning, organising, directing and controlling the financial activities of the Bank.
The department performs a variety of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting, fixed asset and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting, treasury (asset and liability management) and capital management.
As an Assistant Vice President - Business Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing an inventory of all regulatory reporting returns, documenting the processes and subsequently enhancing by streamlining, enriching and adding efficiencies.
This will include but not limited to analysing BoE statistical reporting, FINREP, Branch returns, Capital returns, Liquidity returns and Head office reports.
This is a 24 months fixed term contract position.
Key responsibilities
- Manage meetings with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) who produce returns within the Regulatory Reporting team
- Document and understand the production process of all regulatory reporting outputs for both Branch and Sub entity
- Add efficiencies and improve operational processes of all regulatory reporting outputs for both Branch and Sub entity
- Upkeep of procedure manual and EUCs
- Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders for quality control and analysis
- Review balance sheet for Branch and Sub entity; identify reconciliation points against data feeds which will be used within the regulatory reporting outputs
- Analyse and identify the data attribute in Bank’s data sources / systems for each conceptual data element identified in Axiom
- Update and finalise the mapping document to include the actual data attribute details from the bank’s data sources to the data elements
- Ensure all Axiom data attributes required to produce all reports in each reporting category are mapped to bank’s data sources
- Keep up to date of mapping and APAC mapping within Reg system
- Arrange and agree a reporting period for which the regulatory reports are to be tested
- Perform initial testing screening for every regulatory report in each reporting category and record test results
- Analyse the root cause and allocate the issue for any issues identified during testing
- Support with translation from Mandarin into English as and when required
Requirements
- Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent
- Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Confidence and ability to be the balance sheet management subject matter expert
- Knowledge of Retail and Commercial Banking products
- Knowledge of reporting requirements
- Experience in people management is desirable
- Attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access
- Excellent organisational skills
