PART TIME VACANCIES Medical receptionist required for Furlong Medical Centre Hours Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8pm 6pm, Thursday 8am 4pm . Experience in General Practice is desirable but not essential. Do you have excellent customer service skills? Are you able to work as part of a busy, but friendly team? Are you familiar with EMIS web? Are you able to cover for holidays and sickness? Main duties of the job
Greet and direct patients including booking in patients (if they are unable to use the automated system) and effectively deal with queries from patients and external companies/providers. Make/cancel and re-arrange appointments on the telephone/at the reception desk.
Ensure that up-to-date contact details are obtained at every contact with the patient and records are updated accordingly. Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with the practice protocol. Accurately record requests for visits and re-visits in accordance with the practice protocol. Register new patients ensuring that all forms are completed and appropriate ID documentation is obtained. Record and book requests for ambulances. Promote online access for booking of appointments and requesting of repeat prescriptions. Give out patient questionnaires to patients for surveys being undertaken. Unlock the surgery in the morning including filing cabinets, consulting rooms and prepare for surgery. Ensure that all sensitive information is kept in a secure place and locked away each evening. Support QOF/QIF and enhanced service targets as directed by the Practice Manager/Customer Care Lead. Ensure that all practice policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to.
Provide cross cover for colleagues on annual leave/sick leave/training if requested by Practice Manager/Customer Care Lead. Undertake any other duties as appropriate to the role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Receptionist to join our fantastic team at Furlong Medical Centre. We are a friendly, well organised practice. Our current team consists of 4 GP Partners, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1Pharmacists, 2Practice Nurses and 3Health Care Support Worker. We also have an excellent Management Team and a complement of administration support staff.
