Job Title: Carbon and Circular Economy Lead/ Principal Consultant
Location: Hybrid, Redhill, Birmingham, London, Bradford-on-Avon, Glasgow, Swansea
Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time

Binnies, an RSK Company is excited to be growing their Sustainability team. In recent months, the business has been successful in winning new work within the water sector and is looking to strengthen its capability on carbon and circular economy.
This role will service immediate need on projects working closely with clients and other partners to determine and enable delivery on carbon reduction and circular economy commitments within the water sector. More widely, this role will work to raise awareness,
share best practice and help drive improvements across the business relating to both design and delivery within our water, technical and environmental services.
They will report to the Associate Director Net Zero and Circular Economy.
About the Role
A Circular Economy Lead or Principal Consultant should be able to demonstrate a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking and engagement skills. This role will involve:
Directing and managing products and services to support the delivery of circular economy as part of overall project/programme delivery
As a subject matter expert, delivering advice and guidance on carbon and circular economy processes and tools to inform decision making on projects
Effectively engaging with client, environmental and masterplanning, design and engineering teams to deliver outcomes on circular economy in line with the overarching sustainability strategies for major infrastructure projects
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively engage and secure commitment to actions and deliverables
Strong project management skills including the ability to lead teams within complex projects
Establishing and reporting against commitments and targets.
Essential Requirements
You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, qualifications and skills:
A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in circular economy principles or sustainable design are highly beneficial.
Technical experience in sustainable design, environmental consulting or a related field. This could include experience with BREEAM, BREEAM Infrastructure or other sustainability frameworks and relate to,
but not necessarily limited to, lifecycle assessment, material flow analysis, responsible sourcing and waste minimisation
Demonstrate experience in inspiring and guiding teams, along with the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including clients, technical partners and project teams. Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to sustainability challenges.
Desirable Requirements
Experience of other major infrastructure projects/ programmes
Regulatory knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and standards and the ability to ensure compliance in projects
Experience in the water or environmental services sectors.
