Southampton Solent University, awarded triple TEF Gold in 2023 for our outstanding teaching, learning, and student outcomes, has an exciting position for a talented individual to join the Department of Science and Engineering as a new lecturer in Biomedical Science.
We have an ambitious research and knowledge exchange enabling strategy intended to ensure that the success of our students is shaped and inspired by our research and knowledge exchange.
Building on our strengthening REF submissions and our recent TEF Gold achievement, we are developing our research distinctiveness.
In the next 5 years we intend to further grow our research culture by focusing on our core strengths and expertise within our research themes of environment,
social issues and policy, sport and exercise science, and media and culture, and our knowledge exchange priorities of maritime, sustainable business, social justice, health and wellbeing, student entrepreneurship, and engineering.
Applications are invited from early career researchers or Biomedical Science industry professional’s with either a PhD or significant alternative experience who are interested in teaching at a University level.
You will join an experienced team in a thriving department offering an IBMS accredited full-time course and an apprenticeship course at undergraduate level.
As a new lecturer you will support the delivery and development of the BSc Biomedical Science and Applied Biomedical Science (degree apprenticeship) course and lead on several modules within specific expertise areas.
Applicants with backgrounds in clinical haematology, neuroscience or clinical and/or cellular pathology are encouraged to apply.
You should have some teaching experience preferably at undergraduate level and either hold or be willing to undertake a recognised teaching qualification upon joining the university.
You should also be able to plan innovative teaching classes and industry relevant practical programmes as well as supervise final year undergraduate projects.
