Academics is working with a secondary school in Abingdon committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that promotes physical health, teamwork, and personal growth.
We are looking for a PE Teacher with a gymnastics specialism to lead our gymnastics program and contribute to our comprehensive physical education curriculum.
Responsibilities :
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons with a focus on gymnastics
- Develop and implement a gymnastics curriculum that caters to students of varying skill levels
- Foster a safe,
positive, and inclusive environment for all students
- Encourage student participation and enthusiasm for physical fitness and gymnastics
- Organize and oversee gymnastics events, competitions, and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subject areas
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PE and gymnastics teaching methods and safety standards
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
- Teaching certification and relevant state licensure
- Specialism in gymnastics with experience teaching gymnastics at the school level
- Strong knowledge of PE and gymnastics curriculum standards
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
