Job Title : Emergency Nurse Practitioner
Salary / Grade : Weekday £40 and Weekend £45 per hour
Location : Birmingham
Must have experience in an A&E; environment and able to suture, plaster, wound closure.
Job Summary :
The post holder will undertake assessment and treatment of patients in an Urgent Care setting who may present with complex and / or chronic illnesses and / or injury;
to determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge as indicated as well as maintaining patient records.
To ensure a high quality patient centred service.
Job Responsibilities and duties :
- Undertake highly specialised clinical assessments, diagnose,
treat and discharge patients with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries.
- Statutory and voluntary disciplines / groups in order to provide a seamless service to the patients and their carers and prevent hospital admission where urgent care is required.
- To ensure that patient records and documentation are maintained in line with NMC.
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant company policies / guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, to ensure that the practice complies with NHS / NHS England / CCG
- Ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs is undertaken.
- To treat minor injuries without necessarily having to refer to a doctor.
- Qualified to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients with certain injuries
- Reporting potential risks identified
- To adapt communication skills to meet the needs of patients who may have barriers to understanding
