Slicker Recycling have an exciting new opportunity to join our team. We require an enthusiastic, energetic technician to join our current Parts Washer service team. Based out of our Manchester site, the technician will carry out the refurbishment, servicing and repair of our Parts Washer machines, both in our own workshops and out in the field at our customer sites nationwide.

A parts washer is an automatic machine, similar to an industrial dishwasher, designed to remove soils and contaminates from components. So we require a practical person with a keen interest in engineering and servicing of machinery and appliances. No Parts Washer product knowledge is required as full training with ongoing support and development will be provided.

hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel and work/stay away from home - with compensation package and overtime opportunities.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

- To gain knowledge of our parts washer range.
- Receive in depth training on the machines along with technical details.
- The refurbishment of machines in our workshops.
- Assisting the Parts Washer Manager to carry out field-based servicing and maintenance of machines to gain knowledge and experience.
- To be prepared to travel and spend nights away when required.
- To maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Keep secure and ensure all tools are kept in full working condition.
- Interacting with both suppliers and customers to a very high standard.
- Work responsibly at all times adhering to PPE and site requirements.
- Operate company vehicles with care and attention.






- Adhere to both company and customers Health & Safety policies and procedures

Roles Requirements

Essential:

- During initial training period, candidate must have their own vehicle to start position (expenses on fuel will be claimed). Once initial training period is completed, company vehicles will be discussed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and exceeding customer expectations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional approach.






- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record as travel to customer sites or equipment deliveries & collections will be required.
- Proven basic experience in electrical / mechanical repair or maintenance roles and fault finding or equivalent training / qualification

Preferred:

- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multi-meters, and other specialised equipment for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Counterbalance forklift licence preferable.
