Job description

Our new Client Relationship and Business Development Manager will have two main areas of focus :

Client Relationship Management - Managing a portfolio of prospective and active venue clients within European Energy markets.

Comprising of the Exchanges and Brokers who underpin Traport’s continued success.

Business Development - Identification / acquisition of new assets or regions for our on-going expansion, using your market expertise and network to identify new assets or regions for our on-going expansion.

Developing a sales strategy for these new markets and executing upon this, working collaboratively with our product teams.

As the prospect’s / client’s key commercial point of contact,





you will focus on driving revenue from these accounts by making your clients successful.

You will grow revenue within your portfolio by increasing the usage of Trayport products and services. You will fully manage the pipeline and sales process of new products, including commercial and contract negotiations.

You will establish a network of senior managers and decision-makers within Trayport’s existing client base. Develop these relationships through calls, face-to-face meetings, presentations, networking and Trayport hosted events.

You will fully engage the clients, selling the company as a partner, not a list of features.

You will be responsible for identifying client needs and recommending / proposing our various solutions. You will understand clients / prospects' aspirations, concerns and competitive positions, through deep relationships, strong customer focus and first-rate market knowledge.

You will be a vocal advocate for your clients or prospects within Trayport and push us to deliver against their needs.





Your relationship with technical client managers, product managers, business analysts and senior management will be critical to how successful we are in serving your clients.

Your internal influence is as important as your external influence.

Deep knowledge of wholesale Energy and related commodity markets, and experience working within this environment either at a trading firm, energy exchange, inter-dealer commodity broker or service provider.

Have an established network of senior-level contacts within the energy or broader commodities markets. This is to be leveraged to expand Trayport into new assets / regions and assist in serving our existing venue (broker and exchange) clients.

Influencer the role is one of a trusted advisor where the client and Trayport (at senior levels), value your knowledge and judgment and will act on it.

Knowledge of trading market structures. Includes market dynamics and an interest in the mechanics and operations of trading and clearing.

Successful experience growing revenue from existing customers, by generating leads for additional usage, supporting growth and commercial renegotiations.

Track record of successful business development in establishing a presence within a traded commodity market.

Excellent business acumen with strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate and influence high-level decision-makers.







Strong ability to develop and nurture strong working relationships with C’ level / senior managers / decision makers.

Proven experience in account management and growing a revenue base in a consultative sales or account manager position in the financial services sector.

Working alongside Tom, our Head of Venue Client Relationships and Sales this will be a role with a high-degree of autonomy backed by an ambitious company allowing our new Client Relationship and Business Development Manager to have a real impact on our strategic future growth!
