Job Title : Director ofSales

Yourpurpose will be :

The Director ofSales is responsible for leading and managing the performance ofthe Room & Events Sales Team and as a team delivering thebudgeted rooms revenue for The Savoy.

Key areas includecoordinating the hotel sales and marketing plans by recommendinggrowth efforts monitoring progress and ensuring that the hotel iscorrectly positioned within the Luxury Londonmarketplace.

Youwill be accountablefor :

- Responsible forworking closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing todrive business needs and expand existing business throughpromotional efforts and sales channels.






- Developa highperforming sales team through leadership leading by exampleat all times.
- Sales development; participate inthe hiring of team members inductions PersonalDevelopmentPlansTraining Objectives Targets and supporting with their futuresuccess.
- Manage hotel sales and marketing plansto ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives ofthe business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts for allmarket segments.
- Set targets for the team andsupport in achieving these goals including necessaryreporting.
- Working with the sales hotel team onsales influenced segments including Corporate Luxury Consortiahighend Leisure Middle East Entertainment MICE and Groups& Event Sales.
- Develop an understandingof the hotels full commercial strategy to ensure goals are setappropriately for the proactive salesteam.
- Develop relationships with AccorGlobal / Luxury Sales organization in order to sell our propertyeffectively.






- Understand current marketconditions to ensure the hotel remains competitive (including fairmarket share through STR).
- Monitor demandidentify business risks / opportunities and introduce salesactivities to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks to thebusiness.
- Gatherintelligence. Research customer attitudes andconcerns shifting among hotel marquee customers that may affectfuture revenue.
- Be the expert in the localmarket in all segments.
- Understand and be ableto target the International MICEmarket
- Understand and be able to targetvertical markets.
- Set research projects for theteam to discover new and emergingmarkets
- Prepare and participate in domestic andinternational trade shows familiarization trips and exhibitions aswell as trade related organizations.






- Produceaccurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the hotel andthe management company.
- Work closely with theDirector of Sales and Marketing and Revenue Director in preparingmonthly forecasts departmental budget and function space yieldmaximization.
- Work closely with the MarketingCommunications team to align strategies towards target customergroups and segmentation.
- Ensure allcustomer facing communications & content follow a clearjourney standards are established and convey a clear onbrandmessage for The Savoy.
- Guidemarketing content development. Ensure MarComm teamfocus on buyercentric content i.e.sales enablement resources that convey value matched to the needsof specific customer personas.






- Responsible fordeveloping the annual business and marketing plan for thedepartment in conjunction with the Director of Sales andMarketing.
- Ensure clear process managementdisciplines are in place for the team and enforce the integrity ofOpera Sales and Catering at all times.
- AttendLeadership RevMax meetings monthly profit and loss reviews andother meetings asrequired.

Qualifications :

What youwill need to do in thisrole

- 5 years experiencein a Sales position with experience as a DepartmentHead.
- Relevant degree in sales businessdevelopment or other relevant business field from an academicinstitution.
- Understandrevenue maximization tools.
- Assertiveprofessional and positive with a proven ability to develop and leadin a team environment.
- Full understanding ofthe London luxury hotel market.






- Workingknowledge of Opera Sales and Catering Word andExcel.
- Must be able to work independently andmaintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment with aproven ability to innovate.
- Excellentpresentation skills.
- Commitment to deliver ahigh level of customer service.
- Strongleadership skills whereas it is evident that you can effectivelymanage and motivate a team to performbeyond expectations.
- Strong analytical skillsto understand key business indicators and competitive trends anddevelop solutions to thesechallenges.
- Excellent selling capabilities andthe ability and desire to coach selling techniques to TeamMembers.
- Excellent organizational and planningskills.
- Excellent groomingstandards.
- Flexibility to respond to a range ofdifferent work situations






- Ability to work wellunder time pressure and / or demanding travelschedules
- A passion for sales and targetbasedperformance.
- Flexibility to travelinternationally and host evening FAMtrips
