Head of Art Highly Regarded Croydon Secondary School (Start Date : September 2024)

We are delighted to partner with a prestigious Croydon secondary school, renowned for its academic excellence and commitment to a well-rounded education, in their search for a dynamic and inspiring Head of Art.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to lead a dedicated team and shape the artistic development of students from KS3 through to KS5.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the Art Department, ensuring a curriculum that is both challenging and engaging for all students.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methods that nurture creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression.
- Oversee the delivery of the Art curriculum across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, ensuring alignment with national standards.
- Lead a team of Art educators, providing support, guidance, and fostering professional development opportunities.
- Monitor student progress, analyze data, and implement strategies to continuously improve departmental performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, the wider school community, and external stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience :
- A demonstrably successful record as a Head of Art or a Senior Art Teacher in a secondary school setting.
- A strong qualification in Art and a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Extensive experience in teaching Art at KS3, GCSE,
and ideally A-Level.
- A deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Art and current educational trends.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and students alike.
- A passion for the Arts, coupled with the ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
