The Procurement & Supply Chain directorate currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Team Leader (Band 4) to work in our evolving supply chain team delivering a materials management and receipt & distribution service to our sites.
The Supply Chain department is going through a period of exciting and challenging change with the introduction of new systems, hospitals and working practices.
To make this work we need the very best people with substantial supply chain, people and change skills willing and eager to be part of the transformation.
Applicants should ideally have a sound knowledge of supply chain / logistics practice and some management / leadership experience in the NHS or a similar large complex organisation.
You must be confident, articulate and an aspiring leader able to make assess supply chain issues, make appropriate decisions, understand related systems, communicate effectively with customers and also motivate your team.
You will also be a key link between your team and your supervisor and senior managers providing support, advice and cover when your supervisor is off site.
Applicants must also be able to work across all UCLH sites as required.
This role requires applicants to be passed fit to perform full duties of the post which includes physical effort ( walking, lifting, and handling requirements) this will be determined through occupational health and any reasonable aids provided where possible.
Main duties of the job
To support the Supply Chain Supervisor & Supply Chain Manager to deliver the service of managing the supply of medical consumables, non-medical consumables (exclusions are capital purchases, Sterile Services products, and Pharmaceuticals)
to user departments across all UCLH sites.
- To deliver excellence in the internal supply chain service and all its associated areas including receiving, checking, receipt, distribution, ordering, store management and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- IT literacy is important as the service has a growing reliance on systems and the integration of systems to improve efficiency.
- To support the site team and its supervisor (site manager).
