MANCHESTER SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE HOURLY PAID WORKERS (HPWs)

The Manchester School of Architecture is ranked 5th in the prestigious QS world university rankings and enjoys the unique context of being a collaboration between Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Manchester.

It is one of the largest Schools of Architecture in the country with over 1200 students (typically representing some 85 countries) and over 150 staff from diverse backgrounds and is proud to retain both its quality and sense of community despite its size.

We are looking for HPWs across the School, including :

- Architecture (design studio)
- Landscape Architecture (design studio and construction)
- Urbanism (design studio and theory)
- Adaptive Reuse (design studio and theory)
- Digital Design / Software teaching
- History and Theory
- Construction Technology
- Climate Change
- Professional Studies

Please note that Tutors with current Grade 7 contracts are not eligible to be employed as HPWs at the same time.

Hourly Paid Associates / workers (Teaching Related)

We are looking to engage with academic professionals across this wide range of different specialisms on an hourly paid basis.

These hours are available on a short term, ad hoc basis, up to a maximum of 326 hours across the year,





providing support to our students through a range of roles.

You will have experience in delivering and supporting Higher Education activities, at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, in subject specific and interdisciplinary contexts or have strong relevant industry knowledge and experience.

You will have a positive approach and the ability to contribute to a team.

As an Hourly Paid Associate / Worker in these roles you are required to have :

- Relevant professional qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet objectives.
- The ability to use initiative when dealing with a wide range of issues and problems, challenging decisions appropriately.






- A degree or appropriate equivalent experience in your subject area, along with knowledge and understanding of the changing nature of HE
