We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals.

We are a two-hospital site trust, looking for an ACP or Trainee ACP to work within acute medicine across both sites.

Successful candidates will be joining a team of enthusiastic trainee ACP's and Qualified ACP's in the Acute Medicine & Geriatrics Directorate, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely flow of patients through the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) AEC medical units.

Alongside a strong nursing team, we also have an excellent senior medical team that works closely with us to provide provide a high standard of patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

Either as an experience, Nurse, Pharmacist, Paramedic Practitioner or Allied Health Professional (with at least 2 years' experience in a band 6 or above post in an acute environment, following a period of education, assessment and competency sign-off, the potholder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs plus developing, implementing and evaluating complex programmes of care within the acute medicine setting.

At this time, the post holder will be viewed as an autonomous practitioner and will be fully responsible for managing their own caseload including assessing, treating, referring and discharging those patients in their care, with support when required.







The post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers whilst upholding the trust values.

The role will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.

Person specification

qualifications and Experience

Essential criteria

- Degree educated to relevant post (scientific level 6 qualification) with associated Professional Registration
- Significant relevant experience in speciality / related specialty (recommended : inclusive of significant experience in senior role)






- Advanced clinical assessment skills
- Experience / knowledge of diseases / complexities prevalent in acute care
- Evidence of research & audit

Desirable criteria

- Post Graduate Diploma qualification in acute / critical care practice / related discipline or equivalent experience and equivalent training PLUS ACP credentialing through equivalence route recognised by the HEE
- Teaching & mentoring qualification
- Evidence of understanding and insight into current issues in the NHS
- Management and leadership experience

Skills

Essential criteria

- Advanced clinical practice skills i.e. ABGs, ECG, cannulation and CXR interpretation
- Sound clinical reasoning & decision making
- Advanced IT literacy,





legible and accurate record keeping.

Desirable criteria

- Conversant with IT systems used for speciality
