The RoleWe’re looking for a Wholesale Account Manager to help take our US market growth to the next level. Based in London, you’ll be responsible for driving partnerships and expanding Mustard’s reach across the US. We’re after someone who’s collaborative, a great communicator, and has proven experience in the US and Canada wholesale world—especially/bonus points if within the home or furniture industry.
You will be responsible for building, managing and maintaining relationships with our US and Canadian wholesale partners. You will be driving sales initiatives that support Mustard’s growth strategy into the US market whilst delivering outstanding day-to-day customer management and keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
This is a role for an ambitious candidate looking to further their career at a global retail brand.
Mustard is proud to sell our products to some of the biggest retailers around the world, with a strong footprint already established in the US.This role will be full-time in our London office, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week. What you’ll be doing
Account Management You will be responsible for the ownership and management of all US and Canadian stockists, growing volume and commercial results in this market
You will be responsible for negotiating agreements whilst staying commercially minded, proactively seeking out prospective opportunities whilst always ensuring brand alignment
You will be a great commercial partner and develop positive relationships with owners and buyers by having regular meetings to strategically ensure Mustard is at the forefront of their planning
You will ensure issues are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible so that the customer is updated at every opportunity and all interactions have a positive outcome
Become an expert in all things Mustard! You'll know everything about our products and brand identity to successfully pitch new and current launches to our retailers
Strategy and Commercial AwarenessYou will work with the Head of Wholesale and the wider team to regularly look at key moments and build promotional opportunities in line with the Mustard calendar You will seek out the best partners and stores to work with to enhance our in-store presence and make us iconic
You will be responsible for diving into the detail of each stockist individually, and finding opportunities to help drive their sales growth with MustardFor key accounts,
you will actively seek opportunities to plan container deliveries where possible, optimising the best commercial results
You will always stay ahead of the curve, become an expert in understanding current market trends and actively share this with the team
Sales and ReportingYou will confidently report on monthly sales figures, identifying and pitching opportunities and ways to drive sales and commercial growth
You will confidently share sales data and insights with your accounts and in turn request business performance and future growth plans from the buyers
You will share this knowledge with the wider team, and upskill junior team members to widen their knowledge of sales and reporting to help support the wholesale team
Processes You will manage existing processes within the wholesale department, seeking automation and opportunities to improve so we are always moving the business forward
You will collaborate and communicate effectively with the wider global team to implement and lead activities to support the wholesale channel across all regions, ensuring the best possible delivery
You will use your initiative to plan ahead and ensure we maximise every sales opportunity for your stockists through forwarding planning, bulk orders, stock replenishment communication and successful deliveries
You will work with the technical director and senior team to understand and execute individual stockist integration and dropship requirements Projects You will project manage trade show opportunities within the region,
alongside the Head of Wholesale, ensuring the best coverage for the brand within the budgets set out You will always put your hand up to manage and support ad-hoc processes and projects for the wholesale department
You will always be thinking x 10! Team Management You will mentor and collaborate with your global team, sharing your knowledge and experience, whilst always keeping Mustard’s core values at the centre of everything that you do (Kind, Helpful, Honest)You will currently have the support of a global wholesale Admin, with the opportunity to grow the team further and hire an additional Admin to report into this role directly.
You will always be willing to put your hand up and support the Head of Wholesale in any opportunities that may come up in our day-to-day,
you will be relied on to help drive the team forward Hello, is it you we’re looking for? You have a minimum of 5 years wholesale experience, particularly within US specific sales and account management
You understand the nuances of life in a start-up and are happy to roll up your sleeves: no job is too big or too small
You are a highly motivated people’s person - you love to build relationships and see out projects from start to finish
You have the drive to work globally across all of our markets (we are a collaborative team, operating in different time zones and regions)You have the confidence to spot, implement and report on new opportunities
You have strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to understand KPI’s and make informed decisions from data sets
You have excellent negotiation and presenting skills (you’ll be doing a lot of this!) You are happy to work independently and have the ability to work remotely
