Carbon60 is looking for Senior Proposal Manager to join a client of ours based in Warrington. This is a permanent position offering a competative salary.
Our client is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables and food & beverage markets. We enhance the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs.
Main Responsibilities
Carry out proposal and estimating activities
Take full responsibility for assigned proposals,
to lead and manage to deliver high quality proposals in a timely manner that reflect agreed strategies and are compliant with relevant procedures
Expected to lead large single 'own' discipline proposals and medium complexity multi-discipline proposals.
Responsible for all aspects including estimate/costing, price, technical and commercial submission documents, contractual reviews, approvals
Actively seek relevant input from others required to develop proposal, recognising strengths and weaknesses of self and others
Work with 'operations' to develop and agree execution concepts
Obtain third party (subcontractor/vendor) input as appropriate
Ensure all work is compliant with procedures
Initiate checks and reviews to ensure quality of work
Actively liaise with clients for information, clarifications, site visits, negotiations and feedback
Proactively support proposals managed by others
Provide estimation and execution inputs
Support proposal strategy development.
Carry out reviews and checks of proposal work by others
Work in a structured and organised way and support others in this
Act as Bid Manager reporting to UK Proposals Manager or Head of Proposals for specific assigned proposalsMaintain Body of Knowledge
Responsible for developing and maintaining a clear and reasoned set of norms relevant to discipline as part of the overall proposal department information
Maintain knowledge of relevant current technology, standards and execution approaches
Support development of proposal tools (e.g. estimating tools, procedures)Support Others
Provide coaching to others on estimating techniques
Support junior team members in planning and managing proposals
Review proposals and provide constructive feedbackExperience & Qualifications
10+ years proposal and estimating experience (or similar)
Experience includes contracting in areas such as oil & gas, nuclear, utilities, power
