The HGV Mobile Mechanic/Fitter Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant and electrical equipment

Based at Birminghan International Airport and supporting other WFS operated site/customer locations as necessary.

Responsibilities







- Manage the maintenance of the UK Vehicle fleet based at BHX airport and provide network cover across other loations as needed.
- Will be required to purchase items (i.e., vehicles parts and expense items) within the specified limit of the Low Value Purchase Card Scheme.
- No direct reports but will be required to cross support other mobile fitters located in other UK locations.
- The incumbent may have contractors reporting to them during project work under the WCP system.
- Ensure all planned maintenance programs within BHX & responsible customer sites are completed on time and recorded within Planet Facilities Management (PFM) system.
- Liaise with management to ensure resources are available to cover unplanned maintenance requirements within UK locations (GA and Commercial).
- Responsible for applying all Quality & Technical policies within WFS Aviation segment for the UK, in line with corporate and Industry standards.

- Liaise with local General Aviation representatives at all UK Airports,





to improve maintenance support and operational guidance regarding legal compliance requirements as tasked.
- Operating to the highest standards of Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) compliance; proactively assessing, identifying, and reporting SSHE related matters or incidents; and fully participating and utilising Company Loss Prevention Systems and tools.
- Responsibility for ensuring that the routine vehicle maintenance activities, both electrical and mechanical, are carried out at the airport locations in a timely manner, ensuring continuous operation of the facilities.
- Prioritising of maintenance requirements and allocation of maintenance resource, both in house, including self, and external contractors.






- Maintaining equipment in compliance with the Joint Inspection Group (JIG) standards to ensure that all operational and quality control requirements are met.
- Ensuring maintenance is carried out in the most cost-effective manner.
- Assisting multiple locations with maintenance functions as required.
- Ensuring minimal down time on WFS owned equipment.
- Resource allocation, supplementing with contractors as required.
- Operating correct Safety and Emergency Procedures in the event of incidents.
- Highlighting day to day issues and potential operating problems to the relevant Regional and Assistant Station Managers and assisting in developing and implementing solutions.
- Procuring and on-site supervision of contractor resource via the Regional and Assistant Station Manager.






- Liaison with key stakeholders, including suppliers.
- Maintaining sufficient stock relating to replacement parts.
- Issuing work permits as defined in the responsibility matrix.
- Understanding the Company's statutory requirements relating to and the upkeep of all asset maintenance records and equipment relating to operations.
- Assisting local operations, which includes: performing routine and periodic Service & Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (M&R;) of assets in line with the Company preventative maintenance systems, government,





and industry standards; identifying potential operating issues and assisting in the development and implementation of solutions; and assisting site maintenance staff with preventative maintenance systems where required; including the shutdown and re-commissioning of equipment.

Travel Requirements

Role is Birmingham based but mobility required via supply of company van with equipment to travel as required within UK is high, with no requirements to travel on a global basis.

Education Essential:

- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent)





in Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance.

Education Desirable:

- Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance.
- LGV 1 (C+E) driving licence.
- ADR driving certificate.

Experience Required

At least 5 years work experience within vehicle maintenance systems, and recognized qualifications as a trained mechanic.
