Are you a skilled and compassionate critical care nurse seeking a rewarding opportunity? We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals as Band 6 nurses on our Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU) at The Royal London Hospital.

As the UK’s largest trauma centre The Royal London Hospital is a leading specialist centre with an international reputation for caring for some of the most seriously injured patients in London and beyond.

In addition to trauma ACCU also provides specialist care in neurosciences, acute general medical, surgical, and obstetric services.

You will be working within a highly skilled, dynamic multi-disciplinary team, in our busy and energetic 44 bedded ACCU and our 12 bedded complex elective Surgical HDU.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic nurses with previous critical care experience to play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to critically ill patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized, holistic patient care in conjunction with

the inter-professional team.

As a proficient practitioner in critical care,





the post holder acts as a professional role model and clinical teacher.

He / she also provides effective mentorship and preceptorship, participating in the education and trainingof nursing and non-nursing staff.

He / she also takes charge of the Intensive Care Unit as required, liaising closely with the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse with continuing responsibility

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

- NMC Registrant or Completion of Adaptation Course
- Adult Critical Care Course Certificate
- Preparation for Mentorship Course
- Intravenous accreditation

Desirable criteria

- ALS Certification / LEO / RCN Leadership Programme or equivalent
- Degree or working towards first degree

Experience







Essential criteria

- Extensive critical care nursing experience or experience in a specialised unit
- Experience post adult critical care course
