Job overview
We are looking for an experienced cardiac or respiratory leader to acting into up Head of Service as a Deputy Head of Cardiorespiratory Physiology support the service 2 days per week for 6 month period.
This post is covering a secondment.
You will support this team to effectively lead the cardiorespiratory services covering non-invasive cardiac diagnostics and lung function.
The Respiratory Physiology team is responsible for the adult lung function and sleep investigations across three sites across the trust.
This involves routine lung function and outpatient sleep study provision, as well as more specialist advanced testing, of which, our CPET service accounts for a significant proportion.
We service a wide range of specialist consultant clinics and also perform CPET testing cross-Trust will other centres using us to support their services as well

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work across this multi-speciality
team to lead the service , and act as a senior clinical leader for members of staff to escalate queries and concerns. They will also responsible for support of team of Band 8a / 7 site and team leaders
The post holder will be expected to uphold the Trusts WeCare values to deliver a high standard of patient care at all times.
There will also be a opportunity to lead quality improvements programme and service developments

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience leading cardiorespiratory services
- Evidence of communicating specialist information to key stakeholders including clinicians
- Experience of analysing, interpreting and providing expert advice for a specialised service
- Experience with training all grades of staff
- Experience of planning and developing specialist services including contributing toward local and national policies
- Experience of developing / contributing to service plans, business cases and cost improvement plans
- Experience with leading diverse teams
Desirable criteria
12months+ of experience of leading a cardiology or respiratory team / project / service at senior level

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc Clinical Physiology (or equivalent)
- Understands the theory and practice of management
- AHCS / RCCP Registration or registration as a clinical scientist with HCPC

- Ability to engage the team and develop changes in working practices
- Well organised and ability to work autonomously
- Able to concentrate for prolonged periods whilst operating equipment and communicating with patients
- Able to fully participate in an on call rota as required
